Glenna MacKenzie - Math

I didn't even know she was my favorite teacher until after I graduated. I went to UVA and enrolled in a Calculus class. The class was full of kids from private schools in Richmond, New England, etc. I figured my GHS education was going to leave me with my butt kicked in that class.
Not quite.
As that first college semester rolled on I realized that I was breezing through the material. The private school contingent? Not so much.
I talked to some other Grovetonites who had been through the Glenna Mac program and then enrolled in Calculus at UVA. Same story.
It seems that young Ms. MacKenzie had pretty much whipped all of us into mathematical shape back at Groveton HS.
If anybody sees her - tell her I owe her.
